People have become very dependent on social media in today's age. A lot of websites around the web either force you or give you the opportunity to connect with their website through Facebook. They do that with the hope that you allow their site to post messages every once in awhile to your Facebook account and give them free advertising. One example of this is with Spotify. I connected with their app through Facebook and I found them posting messages in my feed of what I was listening to at times and I had to go on their site and turn that feature off so they would quit posting on my Facebook page.
Without a Facebook account though, it can be very inconvenient to set up and register on some of these sites, if not fully impossible. Once you are connected to their sites, whether you like it or not you have to keep your Facebook page activated, or else you can't get connected to their sites. So it pretty much forces you to keep a Facebook account or else you won't be able to access these other sites. I have tried to deactivate my Facebook account a couple times in the past but it never worked out, it just made everything else inconvenient for me.
